Pie charts are a handy graphical form. Their main purpose is to show you what all the parts of everything are. Here is an example: If I were to look at my monthly budget, It might look like this: <pre> rent $700 food 200 utilities 175 entertainment 100 cell phone 80 insurance 110 debt payment 150 savings 100 total $1615</pre> From this you could construct a pie chart that would give you a visual representation of how much each part of the budget contributes to the whole budget. The pieces of the pie could be labeled with the actual dollar amounts or the percentages of the whole.
