Is a Business Analyst required to have all skills to become one or be called a business analyst?
Answer
Very few business analysts have all the skills. Many specialize in particular parts of the field. A general business analyst may well have different skills than a ip business analyst.
As an employer, I would look for a business analyst with an analytical education (MBA, accounting, statistics, engineering, etc.) I would then look for experience working in an analytical field. Finally, I would ascertain the candidates level of business analysis knowledge. In other words, I would be more interested in his/her ability to learn and figure out things than I would their level of knowledge about specific business analysis methodologies. Others may have a different opinion.
