Summing The Decision Matrix
by: Dee Reavis

The decision matrix does not total down. The numbers along the bottom are the weights assigned to each factor. So if all the weights were 1, then the factors would sum to the right. However, if a factor had a weight of 2, then the number assigned to each alternative in that column would be multiplied times 2 before summing.

Here is an example: If you look at the example decision matrix @ http://www.business-analysis-made-easy.com/Example-Of-A-Decision-Matrix.html I will show the equation for summing the first row or real estate rentals: 9*4+7*3+5*3+9*2+9*1.5+9*1=112.5
