Are there any industry recognized certifications available for the business analyst?

Answer

The main organization that gives business analyst certifications is the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). If you do a Google search for them, you will find that they have certifications that are widely recognized in the industry.

What are the necessary skills, tools and techniques required by a business analyst to fulfill his/her role in an organization.

Answer:

Go to this link Business Analyst Skills

The list on that page is a good starting point to deciding what skills you might need. There is usually a Google ad linking to Villanova University. They have a business analyst course that should help you acquire the business analyst requirements that you need. It will also prepare you to become certified. Business analyst certification can be very important when you are looking for your first job.

(Gurgaon)

My question is that I have 2 years experience in data management and analysis and recently I have completed my SAS program. Please suggest that how can I be better candidate for this profile.

Thanks
Jitendra

Answer

Consider a Business Analysis Certification

I assume you mean that you have a certification in SAS. SAS can be a powerful addition to your skill set.

Experience in data management can give you a strong foundation.

However, to complete your preparation to become a full fledged Business Analyst, I would suggest that you get a Business Analysis Certification. Look at the programs by IIBA and Villanova to start.

Business Analysis Courses

I joined as a business analyst in a company. i don't have any experience in this field. Where do I start?

Answer

Run, don't walk to the nearest computer. Do a search on business analyst certification and then on business analyst courses. You will probably have to take some courses before you attempt the certification tests. You might find local colleges that offer courses or an online college, such as Villanova. If you come from an analytical background, such as engineering, science, or business, you should have little trouble picking up the basics. The certification can be valuable when you have little or no experience. It proves to employers that you have a working understanding of the subject.
